The hinge is designed to be fixed to the wall at the side of the door, which meant it was not wide enough for our door.Also, because our door has an architrave, we would have had to fix a block to the wall first, so that the pole would lie flat against the door.So I had to return it.

The curtain pole looks lovely and was really simple to put up. I used some WD40 on the swinging hinge for ease of movement and to stop any squeaks. I would buy again.

Glad I discovered this, and easy to fit. I’ve lots of drafts around my (wooden) front door and the rod + curtain (both from Next) sorted all the cold air from top to bottom and an inch or so past the sides in one go. Easy to screw on. Opens with the door so no fiddling or sticking door. Unobtrusive so I’ll leave the rod up all year and clean and store the curtain in summer. Only a guess…. but I think it’ll soon save so much £££ fuel heating it’ll more than pay for itself, and the house feels and is warmer. Wish I’d fitted it sooner.
